About the Artist: Fix-Masseau's father was also an artist and served as the Director of the National School of Decorative Arts in Limoges. A graduate of the School of Decorative Arts in Paris, Fix-Masseau was invited in 1928 to work with famed poster artist Cassandre at his Versailles studio. He went on to design advertisements for luxury products and for Air France, the French National Lottery, and the national rail service. The artist's works are now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the MoMA among others.
