About the Poster: Joseph Fernand Henri Léger or Fernand Léger (1881 - 1955) was a French painter, filmmaker, and sculptor known for creating a "personal form" of cubism that was later refined into a popular aesthetic that is said to be a precursor to the pop art movement.
His unique approach to cubism was once referred to as "Tubism" for his prolific use of cylinders in the painting "Nudes of the Forest". His style became increasingly abstract, beside Leger's time in the Communist Party where his work was oriented around depicting the common man. Despite this phase, Léger's aesthetic is consistently bold, colorful and abundant.
