Paul Colin (1892-1985) was a prolific French Illustrator, scenographer, and theatre painter. Over his career, he created over 1900 posters and worked in the theatre for more than 40 years. He is considered a master of the Art Deco poster, incorporating cubist and surrealist influences into his own, distinct style. In 1930, he founded École Paul Colin, a poster and graphic design school where Colin taught for 40 years. He worked closely with Josephine Baker and designed posters for Parisian theaters such the Folies Bergère, the Moulin Rogue, and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées.
