Poster: 12 x 18 inches
Small, framed: 14 x 20 inches
Artist: Wang, Alice
In 2020, I worked with Stephanie Aubin, a graphic designer and teacher at Montreal's Dawson College, to create a mandate for her students: come up with a poster that reflects the culture and feeling of a Montreal neighborhood.
I offered to print and sell the five winning posters, and each student will receive 50% from the proceeds of each sale. The posters are available in limited quantities.
Stephanie's students created a variety of posters, each reflecting their personal approach and style. This one, by Alice Wang features the district of Saint Henri, and its famous Atwater Market.
I asked Alice for a bio and this is what she said:
"Alice Wang is a graduate illustration student from Dawson College, in Montreal, Canada. She has a strong inclination for pencil and ink illustrations but loves experimenting with any and all mediums she can mix with her craft. She particularly enjoys hand-lettering, wildlife illustration, and going out to draw from life. She has a dedication to details that make up the essence of a subject and hopes to draw her audience’s eye towards them, as it seems a shame that they so often go unnoticed.
When not drawing, you can find her buried in a fantasy book, playing video games, making up small tunes on her mandolin, or engaging in her latest obsession, woodcarving!"
This poster is available framed (for $175), or unframed (for $100).
