About the artist: Henning Wagenbreth (b. 1962) is internationally known for his expressive visual language and the diversity of his practice, which spans graphic design, illustration, comics, music, and experimental projects. Alongside his work as an independent graphic designer and illustrator, he has been a Professor of Visual Communication at the Universität der Künste Berlin since 1994. In 2000, the German Stiftung Buchkunst honoured him with its award for the “World’s Most Beautiful Book,” and his poster designs have continued to receive numerous awards. Wagenbreth has presented his work in exhibitions in Berlin, Paris, New York, Istanbul, Lucerne, Naples, and at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
This poster was originally created for the compagny Vlisco. Vlisco is a renowned Dutch textile company founded in 1846, celebrated for its distinctive wax-printed fabrics.
