About the item : This original Italian school report card (pagella) was issued by the Ministry of National Education for the 1939–1940 school year, and was associated with the Gioventù Italiana del Littorio (Italian Youth of the Lictor). Printed in Bologna, it served as an official record of a child's academic achievement, conduct, attendance, and examinations. As we can see in the document, some of the school subjects notably included “Fascist culture” and “History and Fascist culture,” revealing the regime's integration of political indoctrination into elementary education.
The cover is an example of Fascist graphic design, combining bold red typography and an oversized dynamic emblem with a stylized map of Italy, Libya, Ethiopia, Albania, and the Mediterranean.The imperial map visually represents Italy's colonial expansion and the Fascist conception of a renewed Italian empire.
