This original vintage poster was created to promote the play 'Claude. Ou les désarroix amoureux I' by Quebec playwright Jean-Yves Lemieux held at Théâtre Jean-Duceppe in Montreal. The play, a modern drama that employs flashback scene as a means by which to connect past and present, explores the complex relationships that exist between family members and the stories that bind and divide generations. The play was followed by 'Suzanne. Ou les désarroix amoureux II' in 1995.
This piece was designed by Polish-Canadian artist Mieczysław Górowski The artist studied at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts in the 1960s, and started designing posters upon graduating year in 1966. His portfolio boasts over 400 designs - many of which served to promote Montreal exhibitions and events.
This poster is in excellent condition and ready to be framed. This poster is available at l'Affichiste thanks to Marc Choko, Professor Emeritus at the Université de Québec à Montréal (UQAM) School of Design. A long time collector of posters, Choko has curated exhibitions and published on the subject since the 1980s.
